Growing up in the Bronx, as a first generation American, was difficult. Unable to speak English, I recognized at an early age that art was something I was able to relate too, and understand. Art quickly became my favorite subject in school. For years, I dabbled in art, but it wasn’t until 2002 that I realized I was not reaching my potential as an artist and needed to pursue what was to change my life in ways than I could not imagine. Graduating with a degree in Visual Art was a wonderful learning experience, and in my opinion elevated my artistic abilities and vision to a remarkable level.
My goal was: • To create simple, yet unforgettable compositions that are visually appealing to the observer and conveys a message of harmony and tranquility. • To skillfully master techniques in a variety of mediums and subject matters, emphasizing balance, rhythm, scale, shape, and value. • To demonstrate expression in each painting, while accentuating atmospheric qualities and to stimulate color energies.
In this amazing experience, I discovered that I had a genuine passion for color, and an ardent desire to develop negative space. The primary source of inspiration came from observing everything around me and enjoying the beauty of the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts for over 35 years. I acquired a clear understanding of what it takes to create a work of art that moves people with emotional warmth. I also, attended and participated in different art shows in the New England including the Paradise City Arts festival. Today, I am a member of the A.E. Backus Museum and a member of the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance.
